I NEED YOUR HELP

Democrats, Independents, Anarchists, Socialists, Move-on.orgers, ANYONE, PLEASE vote for me in the REPUBLICAN Primary. I am asking for you to do what you can so we can keep those anti-government, anti-tax extremists from electing an actual Republican. I am asking you here to vote for me. As you know, I am doing my part by letting everyone know that even though it is a REPUBLICAN primary, to decide who will represent the REPUBLICAN Party, Virginia allows everyone to vote in it's open primary system. I have sent out a mailing with an actual absentee ballot to many of you Democrats, so your friends and neighbors won't see you actually vote in a REPUBLICAN primary(TRUE ! ! !)Please make sure you vote for me. -signed Sen.Hanger

If a Senator was at the height of his popularity and a solid Republican, then why would he ask for non-Republicans to vote. It would seem that since this area is so heavily populated with voters who tend to vote Republican that he would not need to turn a Republican primary into an open primary.

I guess you could argue that the mailer inviting Democrats to vote in a Republican primary and the dirty politics being conducted by Hanger supporters essentially starting at the same time is a coincidence. And make no mistake Dr. Dem, his supporters waging this smear campaign without a denouncement from the incumbent is the same as the incumbent sanctioning the smear campaign himself.

Preach!

anonymous,
I an not the least impressed by your intelligence. I don't know what you have been reading BUT I BELIEVE HE (HANGER)IS NOT POPULAR WITH THE REPUBLICANS, ONLY VERY IGNORANT DEMOCRATS. As I have talked to many of his supporters (all 10 of them!!!) and if you converted their brains to gunpowder you wouldn't have enough to pass gas (fart for those simple minded dems reading this). Also you will find that most people dislike his tax and spend do it my way attitude. What I have a problem with is the fact that this state is so stupid as to allow another party to influence the choice of another party by allowing just anyone to vote in a primary. The dems made their choice without interference from the Republicans and the dems should respect the right for the Republicans to do the same. My suggestion would be that if Hanger wins the primary by interference by the dems in the primary then all the Republicans should get behind Aaron Sime and elect him.

Richard, thank you for your comments. I am sure Mr.Sime is an honorable man. From what I understand, he has libertarian views that lean conservative. I appreciate that, but I agree with Ronald Reagan's 11th Commandment. "Thou shall not speak ill of another Republican" with the caveat that you can be totally sarcastic when defending a candidate against a RINO or a Rockefeller Republican that besmirches a fellow candidate or tries to usurp the system.
If Sen. Hanger does win the primary, I will support him. Sen. Hanger is still better than 99% of the Dems who run for office. Though Hrorvat seems more like a misguided Republican.I just wish he wouldn't try to demolish the primary system, by asking Democrats to crossover.

I know it is a Republican Primary. Historically, traditionally, ethically, it has been, and should be a Republican only primary, but Ole Virginny has a different view. The Moveon.org crew, Socialists, meth heads, democrats, as well as a few Republicans can all vote for Hanger. And they will since Sen.Hanger is sending Democrats Absentee ballots. They will since Democrats are holding fundraisers for the entrenched Richmond politician.

Yankee,
I can truthfully speak ill of Hanger because of personal dealings with him. For one I helped to put him in office 12 years ago and in the past 4 years he has failed to do his job. I have personally asked for his help regarding the rape of my best friends 12 year old step-daughter. He did nothing, I had a 3 1/2 hour lunch meeting in 2004 with him on the tax issue, he did it his way anyhow. He is the chairman of the Senate Committee for Health and Human Resources and has failed in that position. An audit was conducted in 2004 on Child Protective Services and they failed. I have talked to Philip Leone (head of JLARC) several times about this issue and others, Hanger has ignored requests by JLARC correct those problems. The local office in Verona is one of the worst. The only thing he is interested in doing is sticking it to the people with more taxes but what goes on in his own backyard gets ignored. I myself am fed up with him and his actions. You will never be able to convince me that voting for him would be the best course of action. I have also talked to Aaron Sime personally (have you?) and find his ideals to be very conservative. He didn't want to run against Hanger in a primary due to the expense same as I did when I ran against Sheriff Fisher in 2003 as an Independent. Let me put it this way, I would vote for anyone but Hanger regardless of who they were.

I have met the Senator numerous times, but only in social situations. I have nothing against him personally. Clearly Richard does.
If I did not want the man as my senator, I would be writing letters daily to the local papers. I would be volunteering everyday. I would maintain my ethics, but I would let everyone know the truth of my dealings with the Senator. I don't think I would leave a stone unturned.
I heard someone say the other day at a BBQ, "If I do everything I can, then I can go to bed on election night with a clear conscience, no matter the result." I am sure Scott doesn't want to lose. I am sure Richard doesn't want Sen.Hanger to win. I hope they are both doing all they can.

Nothing personal about Hanger, just plain simple facts he isn't doing the job I sent him to do for me and anyone else who has asked him to do something and he failed. Plain and simple when you hire an employee and the employee fails to do the job you hired him for then you fire him and hire someone who performs the job you want.
Because of his inability to perform his job the rapists of a 12 year old girl will never see jail time and for that matter neither will others who are juveniles that commit these crimes. Just think your child could be sitting in school next to one of these predators and very well could be his next victim. Child Protective Services left the children with the mother who allowed it to happen but Hanger REFUSED to question the bureaucrats in charge as to what was the problem and try to form legislation to correct it.
I am also on a fixed income and the great tax of 2004 with its trickle down effects has forced me to work part time causing me personal pain and discomfort and a complete change in my lifestyle. I have had to reduce doctor visits to the VA hospital in Salem simply because I can no longer afford the gas which is dangerous to my health.
So yes I have a big problem with the job performance of Hanger because I have personally met with him to find a way to remedy those problems to no avail. Frankly he has lost touch with WE THE PEOPLE and I don't want someone who doesn't represent me in that manner in Richmond. I am doing all I can to prevent him from going back and doing more of the same to us. Yes I have volunteered and even been handing out my own printed literature to those supporting him on my own.

Richard, I commend your spirit. We need "We the People" to get more involved. We need for the people to learn what these politicians areNOT DOING for the people. We need the people to learn what they are doing TO the people.

Richard,

You sound like a hedonist. It's all about you and what you want. Forget about anyone else. The job of an elected official is not to cater to an individual's every demand. The job of an elected official is to effectively represent the majority of the people in his/her district.

That's why we have elections. Don't be so crazy. I might have to alert Senator Hanger to get a restraining order against you. You obviously have a lot of hatred in your heart.

For your info. Roosevelt he has a copy of my paperwork about him, it was enclosed in the letter I sent him with all his propaganda that I returned. He is very aware of my promise to him about the tax issue and the rape situation. You must not care if your daughter sits in a classroom next to a rapist or becomes that predators next victim. I do and my intention is to form legislation to prevent these juvenile offenders from doing it again. The one 17 year old boy molested his cousin who was 6-8 years old (he started at 6 and was finally caught when she was 8) He was on probation when he raped and sodomized another cousin only 12 years old. He has not spent one day in jail for either offense. There is more to this story about a Judge and a Retired Augusta County Sheriff. Until you know me and what I am all about don't try to judge my intentions. I have been fighting for almost 3 years to get the laws changed to protect all children from this sort of problem. Also I have worked very hard to correct some of the problems with Child Protective Services in Verona which has started to happen but the job isn't finished. Hanger is the chairman of the Senate Committee that should have been the spearhead to handle it, but no he didn't want to be bothered.
I have friends that just left for Iraq in the 116th Stonewall Brigade, all the other local politicians and candidates gave them their personal farewell EXCEPT HANGER. Just another slap in his constituents faces. Don't get me wrong, Hanger WAS GOOD PEOPLE when he first entered office but like Frank Nolen he has spent to much time in Richmond.
A long time friend of mine (Vance Wilkins) once told me that a politician never has the time or ability to talk to all of his constituents to get their opinion on any given matter. Thus they must rely on letters, phone calls, e-mails and office visits from the people to determine his position on issues. Those people he called them his SQUEAKY WHEELS and they always get the grease. I am a Squeaky Wheel and I try to make a difference for EVERYONE not just myself. If I see a problem I speak up and say something, not sit back and criticize on a blog. I read these for information but in general most of the bloggers I find are not very well informed about the subjects at hand. I do enjoy a good conversation now and then when someone has something intelligent to talk about even if we disagree on the topic. I doubt if this makes any sense to you as you didn't understand what I was talking about before. So I will let you ponder what has been said but will probably have to call the fire department when the smoke begins to rise.
"DISHONESTLY" "HYPOCRITES" I HAVE WRITTEN PROOF OF EVERYTHING I HAVE SAID AND CAN BACK IT UP WITH OTHER AGENCY HEADS WITHIN THE BUREAUCRATS OF THOSE STATE AGENCIES . AS I SAID I DON'T BELIEVE YOU KNOW VERY MUCH ABOUT HIM AND WHAT HE HAS AND HASN'T DONE. TRY GOING ON THE GOVERNMENT (STATE) WEB SITE AND LOOK FOR HANGERS ACTUAL WRITTEN LEGISLATION (WHAT HE ACTUALLY WROTE) NOT WHAT HE VOTED ON, ON SOMEONE ELSE'S LEGISLATION FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS.
