What a fantastic weekend!

We are in the home stretch of this campaign and Scott Sayre is doing a terrific job! We spent Friday night at Bruce and Ruth Grover's home, munching on goodies and listening to the music of Bob Campbell.

Saturday went off like gangbusters with 6 teams in the field in SWAC knocking on doors and cultivating votes. Has anyone noticed all of the Sayre signs popping up like flowers? It is a beautiful site!

These are the final days. Once again, I know that I chose the right candidate to work for. I am proud of Scott Sayre and his campaign. The race never should have gotten this close, but it was through the hard work and dedication of Scott Sayre and his grassroots that it did.

It is time for change and Scott Sayre is the right man for the job!

Scott Sayre has recently distributed a couple of mailers that smack of election fraud and an attempt to confuse and dismantle Hanger's core support.

The mailers can be found here:

You bloggers 4 Sayre need to take a step back and ask yourselves whether or not you really want to be a part of this thing. I'm no attorney, but it looks like Scott Sayre may have just broke the law. I really wish it wasn't like this.

The only thing I can now look forward to is the positive election between Hanger, Sime and Cox.

Scott Sayre and the "by any means necessary crowd" have been a disgrace to the process for long enough.

Nice try Andrew but this last minute desperate attempt to once agin distract voters b/c your candidate has no message is really patheic.

Pack Uncle Teddy's bags and walk away with the shame that you rightfully have earned.

I love how you only try to refute people who disagree with you anonymously Ann. As Chairman of the Staunton Republican Committee I had once hoped you would have more class. You have seen what Scott Sayre has said and done. None of that matters to you though because for you...politics is a game and it's all about winning.

Well this isn't a game to me Ann. And I don't think it's a game for the majority of the 24th district either.

I actually assume you were behind the false pro-life ad. It sounds strikingly similar to an implication you made a while back that Hanger and Russ Potts are the same on social issues.

You couldn't be more wrong about your position on Emmett Hanger. The sad this is...I think you know that and just don't care.

I really do feel bad for you Ann.

So Teddy looks like you and the News Leader are out to destroy the Republican Party in the SWAC area. Sorry, but the Chairs of SWAC people will come together after the primary and support the winner regardless. Andrew Clem, go back to MoveOn.org where you belong. You are very distuctive to the party. Maybe you and Vickie Parkenson can get with Myron Rhodes to spread more lies and try to split the party, but it will not work :-)

most of those sayre signs blew away in the wind already, flew across the interstate and are now gone. cheaply made I guess. next time spend a little $$$ and try Home Depot. they have better quality stuff.

hurry up and repost them road signs quick before Hanger wins!

I drove from Greene County along 33, South on 340, across 250. I saw Sayre, Sayre, Sayre signs everywhere. I know of two locations where the signs blew down. One on 64, and one on 81. Maybe the signs up in DC fell, but I don't know who put them up Shoplifta.

Oh Andrew Clem---nice to see that you have been visiting our site again. Tell you what--you keep on spreading your lies and meanwhile we will continue to work.

Wonder how many votes you'll get hiding behind your computer? Tell you what--we are hot in SWAC--been working the doors for weeks--and you have been???

P.S. Your conspiracy theory is quite amusing. Keep it up--you make yourself out to be a total nut.

I'm voting for Mr. Hanger because "denying educational opportunities to children of undocumented immigrants is un-American and self-destructive."

Please read the article about how Mr. Hanger helped undocumented immigrants get an education. The article is located on the web at

http://news.newamericamedia.org/news/view_article.html?article_id=4d87fd3f7e65879a34de4b36a9352e23

here is a quote straight from article praising Mr. Hanger for his work.

"There are tentative signs in states like Virginia that the political pendulum may be swinging in favor of undocumented immigrant rights. In mid-February, the State Senate overwhelmingly approved a bill that would allow students who graduate from Virginia high schools, whose parents have paid taxes for at least three years and who are actively seeking residency status, to be granted entry into Virginia colleges at reduced, in-state fees.

The bill was introduced by Emmett W. Hanger, a Republican and longtime opponent of college education for undocumented students. After presiding over naturalization ceremonies and seeing these new citizens swear their loyalty after years of effort and toil, Mr. Hanger had a change of heart."

You can't stab a man in the back and then expect him to shake your hand. They'll be other elections and this sort of behavior can't and won't be tolerated. Sorry but the "Chairs of SWAC" will have to go.
