Sen. Hanger Your Quotes are Hollow

Republitarian did a Question and Answer post with Senator Hanger Monday, and it looks like the "A" part is over, without the Senator answering my question:

Senator Hanger:We have had a very serious regional problem with methamphetamine trafficking in our area. This problem has not manifested itself overnight, but rather over a period of years.Del. Ben Cline has had to go ‘hat in hand’ down to the GA to secure funding for overtime for our State Troopers to try and interdict this activity. Augusta County alone has been authorized 19 state troopers for years, but only 14 have been funded. How do explain your lack of Leadership in this area, and why you have not made public safety a priority, even though you have voted for tax increases each year since 04′, all the while we have been in a surplus?

It should be pointed out that Senator Hanger had this to say in a News Leader article concerning his fellow Republicans who disagree with the Senators performance:

The three-term senator used Wednesday's announcement to rail against radioadvertisements that he said misrepresented his record on taxes and warned that he wouldn't be bullied by "anti-tax, anti-government extremists." "There is a very small but vocal group in the Republican Party that anti-tax is their only message," Hanger said.

Well, a couple of points here Senator. The first is the ad you referring too, is merely informing the voters, there is more than one tax increase than the 04' Warner Tax increase (largest in VA's history), and that 'small group' you refer too, just happened to actually be 6 of 9 unit chairs in your district. Furthermore, in regards of "anti-tax being their only message", you are sadly mistaken, and your silence on the issue of public safety shows you have neglected this issue over the 12 years you have represented our district.

Just stumbled on this blog. It's really negative and a total turn off. You should work on getting your candidate's message out, it's hard to find one here, and try to keep your hatred in check.

Just checked out Sayre's web site and followed a few links. Good to learn that Grover Norquist's group is backing him. What a nut. What jumped out at me and Wikipedia was phrases like..."Gang of Five"..."a thumb-in-the-eye radical rightist"..."Lobbying, corruption, and money laundering"..."Connections to Jack Abramoff" Good to know who will be pulling the strings. I think Emmett is dead on when he speaks of "anti-government extremists."

Didn't Clem just finish attacking B4S for being anonymous and dubious?

Highlighting Sen. Hanger's voting record negative? Really, You would figure he would be proud of it...

Why don't you quit wasting everyone's time by casting aspirsions upon us and tell us just how wrong we are on Hanger's postions?

Unfortunately "Anonymous" is usually used by those who are glad to throw out their opinions but are not willing to attache their names to them.

"Negative" Campaigning is also a claim used by many who are called on their past actions, or lack of actions, or their voting records as a defense for their past. Instead of standing up for what they voted for and explaining their position it is easier to claim negative campaigning.

By pointing out the John Kerry and his magical Purple Hearts were mostly scratches that did not even deserve band-aids it was called "Negative campaigning". Instead of being called on why he got Purple Hearts when medics\doctors refused to sign medical records endorsing a true wound, Kerry claimed negative campaigning and got a pass from the press...

Hanger will now claim negative campaigning instead of explaining his reasons for supporting the Tax increases. And if he does explain his "Tax increases" and does not get the reaction he wants he might claim us common folk don't understand government and he will then go hang out with his "elected friends" who understand him...
